Naturopathic Aesthetics

Most of us want to look as good on the outside as we feel on the inside. That is why the team at Dr. Grady's offices are now offering two different types of Naturopathic Aesthetics.

Acupuncture

Cosmetic Acupuncture

Cosmetic acupuncture is the process of inserting thin, sterile needles into the face, at particular areas of concern, to bring Qi (energy) and blood flow to those areas to promote healing and boost collagen production.

 

Conditions Addressed with Cosmetic Acupuncture:

  • Acne and acne scars/hyperpigmentation

  • Fine Lines

  • Deep Wrinkles

  • Scars

  • Sunspots/ hyperpigmentation

 

The process is pretty simple. We start by cleansing the skin, followed by insertion of the needles into the areas of concern. The needles are left for about 30 min, during which time, we use LED light therapy to reduce inflammation, promote healing and improve fine lines. 

 

The best part about the whole process is that there is no downtime! There is a potential for pin-prick bleeding in certain areas, but generally, no one will know that you've been in for a facial treatment!

Microneedling

Microneedling is a cosmetic procedure. It involves pricking the skin with tiny sterilized needles. The small wounds encourage your body to make more collagen and elastin, which heal your skin and help you look younger. The benefits of microneedling are seen within a few days and may last up to one year.

Microneedling is a step up from cosmetic acupuncture and can be a wonderful addition to a consistent facial acupuncture schedule. 

​

The process is more involved than a cosmetic acupuncture session and includes an initial skin assessment, dietary and lifestyle advice as well as a thorough discussion of post treatment healing, as well as microneedling dos and don'ts. 

​

We begin with a numbing cream to reduce discomfort, followed by the microneedling. We finish off with a hyaluronic acid sheet mask.

Microdermabrasion
